Password protection
Password protection lets you require a password before a dynamic QR scan continues to the destination. Use it when QR content is intended for a limited audience but still needs to be distributed through a scannable code.
Protect a QR code with a password
Password protection adds a campaign-level password to a dynamic QR code. Visitors enter the password before the protected destination opens.
Use it for event attendee links, staff resources, or client previews. It also works for any campaign where the QR code can be visible but the destination should be limited to people with the password.
Add password protection in Campaign Settings
Create or edit a dynamic QR code, then open Campaign Settings. Use Password protect to set, update, or remove the password.
What visitors see after scanning
After a visitor scans the QR code, QRSurge displays a password prompt before the destination. When the visitor enters the campaign password, QRSurge continues to the current destination.
You can update the destination, change the password, or remove password protection later while keeping the same printed dynamic QR code.
Use campaign passwords and passcode smart rules differently
Campaign password protection gates the whole QR code behind one password. Passcode smart rules use a code as one condition in a routing rule, so different passcodes can send visitors to different destinations.
